NOTES:
To say this was another fantastic show by TSO would be nothing new - as they always never fail to put on one of the greatest stage shows I've ever seen.  And I think this is a great recording - although I probably should have run with my preamp (as even with everything maxed out my levels were still a bit low).  Luckily, it didn't seem to affect the recording much at all and this is an enjoyable listen for me and a nice momento from the show.

NOTES:
A fantastic performance by James.  I have only seen him do a full acoustic set one other time, so this was a real treat.  Honestly, I was pretty blown away by his guitar work as the performance sounded like nothing else was needed in the way of other instruments. I'll let you be the judge of that, but for me, this was a rare treat and this will probably go down as one of my favorite recordings I've put out there.

There was a mishap with the recorder where the mics had been unplugged at first.  This resulted in sub-par audio up until about halfway through Down Across the Delaware.  I ended up doing a little editing and saved what I thought I could of the song.  The raw unedited source is included in the "Extras" folder of this archive if you'd like to play with it - do so with caution though as playing it as is could damage your speakers or headphones.

The video that is included is all the footage that I took, so please don't ask if I have more.  I have provided pretty much all the media that I got that night in this archive - photos, video, and audio.

Great little theater and place to see Arlo!  It was a wonderful night filled with song and story by one of the best in the business.  It's not a perfect recording, and I apologize for a few of the coughs as it was very dry and I found myself without any candy or something to sooth my throat. Highlight of the evening had to be everyone singing along to "My Peace", a perfect ending to a great show.

The recording you have here is not a normal concert, but rather a compilation spanning all three nights at the Guthrie Center.  I have tried to keep the continuity of the shows intact - but I did take a few liberties in order to provide a recording covering all three shows as well as condensing it to fit on a 2 CD set.  This is my first time ever putting together a project like this, and I do hope that you enjoy the
effort that went in to it.

Notes:
I had the levels set way too hot in the beginning, and was forced to pause the recording to lower them some - as a result there is a short gap in the first song (Black Dog).  There also was some weird interference or something during the song Monkey - not sure what caused that.  The recording was mastered on a MacBook running Sound Studio 3.5 and a pair of Sony MDR-7506 Professional headphones.  For the best possible listening experience - listen to on a good set of headphones that have a very flat response curve.  The mics were inside a hat above each ear.  Fades were added, along with some EQ and compression.

Notes:
This is one of my very first recordings and was basically just a mic sitting on a table with the recorder.  It definitely captures the performance quite well - it was loud and very much a bar type atmosphere.

For those who may not be aware Phlea Circus is/was a mostly cover band consisting of Abe Guthrie (Arlo's son) on keyboards, Randy Cormier on guitar and vocals and I don't remember who else had the guitar, and I had the impression there was no real set drummer.  Although it's mostly just covers - they did manage to throw in an original Xavier song.  Also, as an added bonus is a track called "Tomorrow's Gone" which I believe was written by Randy.  It is just him and his guitar playing at the Guthrie Center the day after if I recall correctly.  I don't believe this song appears anywhere else or I have ever heard it played live anywhere.

It's not the greatest quality - but worth checking out if you are a fan of Xavier - or just because!
